On Saturday, I stole a pastry. No, I take that back. I stole two pastries. Now, this is not like a morning cartoon show where the rascally rabbit steals a cooling pie from the window sill. Instead, this was me liberating two frozen and forgotten Butter Braid pastries out of the freezer at work. I would love to say I cooked them and gave them to a homeless man, but I really just served them to my friends for Sunday Brunch.

One of the brokers in my office played a prank on a fellow broker by signing him up on a coworker’s school fundraiser form for Butter Braids. So, when time came to pay for the pastries, the prankee was caught completely off guard, but paid for them anyways. But, since he was not expecting the pastries in the first place, they then sat in the freezer at work for six months.

My theory is that I was really doing him a favor. His forgotten sweets were taking up room in the freezer with no hope of rescue from permafrost. And, if by chance, someone were to have reminded him about the Butter Braids, then he’d sorely remember being the butt of the prankster’s joke, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth instead of the sweetness of pastry.

All that being said, I know that it was technically wrong to take and enjoy that which was not mine, yet I feel no remorse in savoring and sharing those tasty morsels of pastry goodness with my friends. As the saying goes: waste not, want not. The pastry was going to waste, and I wanted it.

Write Down All Your Friends' Birthdays

I don't know what the point of this really was...  I have a lot of March/April/May peeps in my life.  That much I could have already told you, though.

On a side note, it was my grandpa Rich's birthday, so I called and talked to him and my grandma for a bit.  That was really nice.  We also got our first snow of the season yesterday.  Oh, and Jason, Nancy and I had played trivia at the Robusto Room and we won!  :0)  *happy dance*

Have a Good Cry

I was inappropriately yelled at by a peer/coworker today.  Seriously...  So rude and unprofessional.  I at least have the sense to know what "tact" is.  She ruined my day.  I cried in secret.  I am still aghast.  I suppose that in the long run it's good to know which one of us office bitches is the one that'll snap like a pitbull.  Put a muzzle on it.

Stockpile as Much Free Sugar as Possible

Well, conveniently enough, we had a catered breakfast and a catered lunch at work that day.  So, when the meetings were finished, I scavenged for all the leftover condiments, sugars and whatnot.  I also took all the leftovers and donated them to a women’s shelter on my way home from work.  How sweet, right?  (yes, pun intended)

Today, Take the Path You Fear

Today all of us gals are dressed up for Halloween in the office.  I was a little nervous with my costume.  I put a lot of time, effort and money into my costume.  But, it included roller skates and booty shorts…  So, I wasn’t sure how kosher it’d be to wear to the office.  But, I have to say it’s been a big hit.  :0)  And I’m so happy I went all out!  Best Halloween costume ever!!!  (I even made my building's newsletter!)
